Overview
The Indian logistics sector is a critical connector, linking the country’s commerce. Traditionally, despite advances in technology and the emergence of hundreds of E-Commerce retailers, India’s logistics sector had failed to keep pace with that growth, struggling with shoddy infrastructural problems. That scenario is, however, changing as India is fast-tracking its infrastructure development.
The logistics sector, which comprises freight and passenger transportation via road, rail, air, and water as well as warehousing and cold-storage, is now embracing technology. Delivery start-ups are now reaching out to companies, trying to solve end-delivery gaps, which have plagued this sector in the past. Investors are now eyeing this sector, especially given the pace of government reforms. As such, the entry of foreign players is having a positive impact on the sector.
